Drama Audition Coaching in Chester or Online

I offer professional audition preparation coaching for performers getting ready for drama school auditions, theatre productions, and performing arts courses. My sessions are designed to help performers present themselves with confidence, clarity, and authenticity in audition settings.

With extensive experience in theatre, musical theatre, and performing arts education, I understand the expectations of audition panels and the challenges that performers often face when preparing their audition material. My goal is to help each performer feel confident, prepared, and ready to deliver their best performance.

Preparing for Drama School Auditions

Auditions for drama schools and performing arts courses can feel daunting. Careful audition preparation can significantly boost a performer’s confidence and their ability to communicate their work effectively.

My audition preparation sessions can assist with:

  • Choosing suitable monologues or audition pieces
  • Understanding and interpreting the text
  • Developing strong character choices
  • Improving vocal clarity and projection
  • Building confidence in performance
  • Structuring and refining audition pieces
  • Preparing for potential workshop or recall auditions

These sessions focus on helping performers present their work clearly, truthfully, and confidently, ensuring that their chosen material highlights their strengths.

Auditions for Theatre Productions

I also support performers in preparing for auditions for theatre productions, including plays and musical theatre shows.

My sessions can help performers:

  • Prepare audition pieces or monologues
  • Strengthen acting choices and character interpretation
  • Improve vocal delivery and stage presence
  • Develop confidence in cold reading situations
  • Approach auditions with a clear strategy and mindset

The aim is to help performers feel prepared, confident, and relaxed so they can present their best work.

What We Work On

During audition preparation sessions, we may cover:

  • Selecting and refining audition material
  • Understanding the dramatic context of the piece
  • Exploring character objectives and intentions
  • Improving vocal delivery and clarity
  • Strengthening physical presence and performance focus
  • Developing confidence performing in front of others

Each session is tailored to the performer’s experience, goals, and the specific audition they are preparing for.

Who This Is For

Audition preparation may be particularly beneficial for:

  • Students applying for drama schools or performing arts courses
  • Young performers getting ready for youth theatre or school productions
  • Actors preparing for community or amateur theatre auditions
  • Performers seeking additional guidance before an important audition

Sessions are suitable for teenagers, young adults, and adult performers.

Lesson Length and Fees

Sessions are available in the following formats:

  • 45 minutes – £40
  • 60 minutes – £50

Many performers find that a small number of focused sessions in the weeks leading up to their audition makes a significant difference.

Location

Lessons typically take place at my home in Chester. In some cases, home visits may be available for an additional travel fee.
