A Level Drama Tuition

I offer specialist A Level Drama tuition in Chester for students studying Drama and Theatre who would benefit from additional support alongside their school or college studies. A Level Drama is a challenging and rewarding subject that requires strong performance skills, creative thinking and the ability to analyse theatre in depth. Individual tuition can help students develop the confidence and understanding needed to succeed.

With extensive experience in theatre, musical theatre and performing arts education, I support students in developing both the practical and academic skills required for A Level Drama.

How A Level Drama Tuition Can Help

A Level Drama requires students to engage deeply with performance, devising, theatre practitioners and written analysis. One-to-one tuition provides the opportunity to explore these areas in greater depth and develop stronger understanding.

Lessons can support students to:

  • Strengthen their acting and performance skills
  • Develop confidence exploring complex characters and texts
  • Deepen their understanding of theatre practitioners and styles
  • Improve written analysis and exam responses
  • Prepare effectively for performance assessments
  • Develop strategies for revision and written examinations

Each session is tailored to the student’s course requirements and individual areas for development.

Devising and Creative Work

Devising is a key part of many A Level Drama courses and can be one of the most demanding elements of the subject. Tuition can help students to:

  • Generate and develop creative ideas
  • Structure devised work clearly and effectively
  • Explore staging, movement and performance style
  • Refine and strengthen devised performances
  • Prepare written evaluations and supporting coursework

Students are encouraged to develop their own creative voice while ensuring their work meets the assessment criteria required by their exam board.

Text Analysis and Performance

A Level Drama students are often required to study plays in depth and perform extracts as part of their assessment.

Tuition can help students to:

  • Analyse dramatic texts in greater depth
  • Explore character interpretation and dramatic intention
  • Develop confident vocal and physical performance choices
  • Understand staging, design and directorial decisions
  • Prepare effectively for assessed performances

Lessons aim to strengthen both practical performance skills and academic understanding of theatre.

Support for Different Exam Boards

I am able to support students studying a range of A Level Drama specifications, including:

  • AQA
  • Edexcel
  • OCR
  • Eduqas

Sessions are adapted to suit the specific expectations and assessment structure of each exam board.

Who This Is For

  • Want to strengthen their performance and acting skills
  • Need additional guidance with devising coursework
  • Would like help developing written analysis of theatre
  • Are aiming for high grades at A Level
  • Are considering applying to drama school or performing arts courses
